Nutrition: the food pyramid

You are what you eat. Food has an impact on your brain and body, therefore a healthy diet is very important for your health. It’s important to choose food that is rich in antioxidants, good fats, vitamins, and minerals.

The Food Pyramid that is probably known to everyone is a visual representation of how different foods and drinks contribute to a healthy balanced diet.

Have you ever tried a food diary? A food diary is a daily log of what you eat and drink each day. The journal helps you (and your doctor) understand your eating habits. Through a food diary, you become aware of your quantities consumed. So you can make adjustments to your diet to live healthier. Do this for at least one week. You will find a template of a food diary in the Workbook lifestyle. Of course, you can also just write this on a sheet of paper or on your smartphone.
